Former seventh round draft pick and perennial Pro Bowl nose tackle Jay Ratliff, agrees to a five year extension worth $40 million. He get’s 18 guaranteed including a $10 million dollar signing bonus.

There’s no question that he’s earned this deal. He’s been a solidifying force on the the D-Line and has made us forget about Jason Ferguson.

The question is…Can he continue to play at a high level? He’s not your prototypical DT in terms of size and he’s not getting any younger. These are real concerns, but let’s face it…you can never underestimate a guy that was a late round draft pick turned Pro Bowler.
